Pretty sure it’s just an ordinary cow steak, but because ponies are herbivores (and cows are basically people too), beef would be hard to het a hold of. So to get this steak for you, she went where the carnivores live, and it wouldn’t be hard to believe that Griffons (being part feline and part avian) would have a lot of meat in their diets.

Correction. Eggs are chicken periods. Almost uniquely among birds, domestic chickens lay without fertilization on the regular. Domestic ducks are a close second and can almost match their rate.
I’m pretty sure you’re on point there, but the fact is Rarity probably just finds it amusing enough, if not arousingly pleasing [to watch the devouring of meat], as any divergent individual in a society may be, if not it demonstrates the length she’ll go for the companion she’s got hearts for.
