Yeah, plus it’s always the same lame reasons to hate Sonic…  
“There hasn’t been a good Sonic game sense Sonic 1!” “Sonic has green eyes! So he sucks!” “I want the old chubby Sonic back!” “Eggman should be called Robotnik!” “Sonic games are to dark!” “Sonic games are to light-hearted!” “There’s to many extra characters, even though we haven’t seen them much in recent games!” “Only Sega Genesis had good games! I hate the homing-attack!”
 
Ironically, those are things people who claim to be Sonic “fans” tend to say.
 
Also, I don’t see people hold other game series to the same standards. I saw one guy who complained about the graphics of Sonic 4 looking to 3D-ish, and not enough like the old Genesis games, (among other things, and this was before the game even came out, so he never even played it) yet he was a big fan of the “New Super Mario Bros.” games, and he doesn’t mind those being 3D-ish, or the physics not being the same as Super Mario 3/World. I don’t understand these double-standards with Sonic.

Pretty much this. Nobody’s angry, just bored of watching all the ‘fake angry’ people throwing a hissy because ‘omg someone posted sawnik but sawnik suuuuuuxxx!’

Or maybe some people just think the Sonic-bashing is getting old, and overdone on this site. IGN bashes Sonic, Game Informer bashes Sonic, everybody and their dog bashes Sonic. It’s become so trendy online to hate Sonic, that it’s fun to just go to a random video game board, and mention “Sonic,” then watch almost everyone freak out.

Nope, you don’t sound angry at all. You’re not putting in the effort to manually track these conversations without an account to argue with people, you’re not hurling frothy insults in every thread, nope nope. Just ‘pointing things out’, not mad at all.
 
For the folks playing along back home, the background pony is actually really, really mad that some people don’t like his waifu, Sonic.

I can understand how someone like yourself, who allows blind fantard’ism and the aching in his anus to cloud his judgement, would mistake calmly pointing out the hypocrisy of MLP fans condemning other fandoms for poor behaviour as being ‘angry’, so I’ll forgive you. After all, it’s not like you know better.

It’s died down lately, but it was pretty bad during the whole “green eyes in Sonic 4” controversy a few years ago, before that game even came out. There’s still some old-school Sonic purists who whine about how only the first 2 Sonic games are good, and such. (And some of them work for IGN, and Game Informer magazine ironically.)  
I remember seeing a guy on DA who hated Sonic’s green eyes so much, he edited out the green eyes on the “Sonic Genesis” comic book cover, and ranted about how they made him look “soulless,” for several paragraphs, and why Sega should back to the old chubby “Felix the cat” Sonic design.  
(I have green eyes IRL, I must look soulless to.) :P
 
Still both green eyes, and wings are silly things to make a big deal over, so ALL fanbases have their fanbrats, people forget.
 
I almost wish a Sonic & MLP crossover does happen (maybe like a crossover comic like the “World’s Collide” Sonic & Megaman crossover they’re doing now) just so I can see BOTH fanbases freak out. lol

Hell, I’ve hardly seen or heard that much green eye whining - it seems to be a pretty loud, but relatively small (and only in recent years) group.
 
Compare it to the colossal rage mass of the anti-wing brigade, and yeah.. no room to judge.
