The message boards went crazy because McCarthy sent Luna and Celestia away, turned the rest of the mane6 into Alicorns, sending them away to rule their own kingdoms, and Twilight went through a second Alicornification/Ascension as she assumes the throne to rule over Equestria as she takes the place of Celestia. Hasbro subsequently releases the “pretty, pretty princess pack” which contains regal version of all the mane6 and sells accessory packs in the form of the pony grab bags.

On a more serious note, I do agree that there are well thought out criticisms of the finale, which are quite valid, but they get brushed off as nonsensical ramblings of fans who dislike either alicorn Twilight or they are “butt-hurt” and just need to “deal with it.”

People like Klonoahedgehog cause people like me, who didn’t hate the finale but have a number of thought out criticisms we feel are valid, to get brushed off as rabid, illogical haters.
