During the final event of the Friendship Games, Principal Cinch of Crystal Prep finds out about magic used in and around Canterlot High. And that one of her students, Twilight Sparkle, is in possession of that magic. Intent on once again winning the Friendships Games, Cinch and the other students press her into using that magic for their benefit. However, things don’t go according to plan.

Once the magic was unleashed, it enveloped Twilight and turned her into a dark entity calling herself Midnight Sparkle. She began tearing apart the fabric of reality by opening up rifts of portals to Equestria. With no one seemingly able to stop her.

Much to Principal Cinch’s fear…

Sometime later in the Everfree Forest, two pony explorers emerge into the clearing. They scare off any cockatrice nearby and approach the strange statue…

Pony Explorer #1: “Have you ever seen anything like this?”

Pony Explorer #2: “Never. Such an odd looking creature. Wonder how it got all the way out here?”

Pony Explorer #1: (pondering) “You know… It would be a waste to just leave it out here. I’ll bet the Manahatten Museum will reward us if we brought this back with us.”

Pony Explorer #2: “Uh, shouldn’t we try and revive it?”

Pony Explorer #1: “I dunno. It could be dangerous. Better to bring it back safely than risking it.”

Pony Explorer #2: “You’re right. We are SO going to be mentioned in papers with this thing. Let’s go.” (They pick up the statue of Cinch and trot back through the woods to the nearest town.)
