It was the strangest case Judge Reinhold, or anyone at the EOIR, had ever encountered. On the one hand, she was undocumented; there was no doubt about that. No state or federal agency had any record of the girl’s existence. On the other hand, DHS had no evidence that she had ever lived anywhere but the United States. A unicorn with an uncanny resemblance to the girl, perhaps, but not the person standing in his courtroom. And “Equestria” wasn’t on any map he was able to get his hands on. The U.S. certainly didn’t have diplomatic relations with the purported country. Even if he ordered her removed, there was no way ICE could ever execute that order, not without convincing the State Department to open talks with a magical kingdom full of talking ponies in a parallel universe. And good luck with that.

In the end, Reinhold ordered the case terminated and Sunset Shimmer released. Not because he believed she really was a U.S. citizen, but because the evidence that she wasn’t also proved something much bigger, something a low-level bureaucrat like himself had no business sorting out. Let the law catch up with the multiverse in its own time, he thought, and God willing I’ll be long retired by then.

When Equestria sends its ponies, they’re not sending their best. They’re bringing magic. They bringing songs. Some I assume are good people. We’re gonna build a big beautiful wall, and Equestria is going to pay for it.

To be fair, she is an illegal alien in every sense of the word. But nobody wants to watch that. So Hasbro did the smart thing.
