That was the first arc. Pinkie is referring to the fact Dash didn’t write home from Wonderbolt Academy.
Did they specifically mention this micro issue or the other comics? Because I believe it was also mentioned that some of the lineart was made after the s3 finale. Which was also the reason why RD wore her coronation hat in this issue:

It was confirmed by the writers, that this takes place after season 2, but before season 3.
