I think the artist just made Hitch play football because that’s the first sport you think of when you think ‘high school jock.’
If you asked me Hitch is less the school jock, and more like…Well, you ever knew that one student who was in the student council, several clubs and sports teams, had really good grades, was in the honor roll, and SOMEHOW had a social life and went to every party? I think Hitch would be that student.
With the side of being the hall monitor, because it just fits too well–

Sure, it’s possible but I just don’t think it fits his style as much as other sports do. Football practice does build some considerable strength and coordination but given the very impressive feats of coordination Hitch has done, you need some serious dedication to controlling your entire body that Football alone has too narrow of a scope to foster.
Yeah, yeah I know it’s over analyzing. I’m not trying to be a kill joy or say somebody is wrong, I’m just interested in analyzing stuff that’s all.

Hitch doesn’t strike me as being a football jock at all. The particular athleticism he’s demonstrated–being particularly dexterous, nimble and agile–lines up more that he may have participated in a lot of gymnastics classes and competitions. Maybe even cross-country or wrestling.
