Ahem. I just wanted to chime in about the use of the term “ya’ll”. Ya’ll is in fact a contraction of “you all”, so if we’re being accurate we would only use the contraction when referring to two or more people. However, I believe I have heard “ya’ll” used to address a single person by someone from a region that regularly uses the term as part of their native dialect, so perhaps there are exceptions depending on what part of the country one resides in.
