I think they approached Sweetie because she and her family have very simlar looks to Sugar Belle on top of also beeing unicorns.

I think my favorite thing about this is that Sweetie agrees to help out her friends with being a surrogate mother for them. That’s a lot to ask. A pretty awkward thing to ask, especially to a young mare that they’ve known since she was a filly. Which could easily be interpreted as a plot hole or OOC moment, since it would make more sense for Big Mac and Sugar Belle to ask, say, Cheerilee, but eh. Not everything has to make perfect sense.

But regardless, it’s a very sweet and generous thing that Sweetie does. Heart warming, IMHO, and that’s why it is my favorite.

EDIT: Also, I wonder what some other ponies might think about this? Ponies like, Sweetie’s friends, her older sister Rarity, Applejack, to name a few. Would they be as accepting? Hmmm~
