Well dang. I’ve completed my 30th trip around the sun and today is the first day of my 31st.

I’ve been writing this webcomic since I was heading off to college. I’ve been writing about tabletop games longer than I’ve been playing them. I’m still a long ways off from making what anyone would call a full recovery from my mental health issues. I’ve cut down on a lot of the projects I previously piled on my plate.

And what I feel most right now, even more than melancholy, is gratitude, to all of you for sticking with this, for being in your own way a part of my life. Thank you.

Transcript:

Tirek: I already possess the raw power of nearly every pegasus, unicorn, and earth pony across the breadth of Equestria. Without their magic, without their “special talents,” all of your beloved little citizens will have no choice but to bow down… *TO ME!*
SFX: (SMASH!)
Tirek: How does it feel, “Princess?”
DM: Princess Celestia simply says:
Princess Celestia: You will not prevail, Tirek.
Discord GM: How BORING.
DM: And you can see that Tirek agrees with you. With his magic, he opens a massive portal behind the three alicorns.
Tirek: Give my regards to Cerberus.
DM: And he banishes them into the deepest pits of Tartarus.
Discord GM: We do love a little ironic punishment around here, don’t we?
Tirek: Ah… THAT, at least, was satisfying.
Discord: And wouldn’t you prefer that the good times keep rolling? To come so far only to be stopped right at the finish line… It would be a tragedy! Trust me, I know how that feels. We’re now at a bit of a crossroads, you and I. Either you give me insurance and we go back to being partners in crime… or you deal with the ponies’ surprise comeback special all on your own. Wouldn’t it be so much better to have peace of mind? For both of us?
Tirek: Mmmrrrrrrngh…
DM: You see Tirek’s face contorting and his eyes darting about as he tries to think of a way out of this. But bit by bit, you see him swallow his pride.
Tirek: There is… ONE thing.
Discord GM: At last! What a stubborn old goat.
