Whoa, has the comic ever showed dead ponies before? While the TV show had the Arimaspi skull, this would’ve been a big no-no.

Did you forget that Chrysalis literally murdered a cat in front of the CMCs in the first couple issues of FiM.

If the story of Equestria’s collapse is not to come out in TYT and is only smoothed over in MYM, it must mean that it is very dark that it can only come out in the IDW comics. So it is possible that shocking and upsetting scenes will appear in the final scenes when the Mane 5 get answers to what had happened up to two hundred years before their time. The appearance of the old Discord left no doubt that something very fearful had happened, the mighty draconequus had been maimed. It is not just the loss of one horn and one or more fingers, he bore the mark of having suffered grotesque injuries.

So The Big Bad of the Ponyverse is back - and he’s not playing. If anything is going to bring down the world that the previous generation of heroes had created, it should be the strongest, meanest and most dangerous enemy in the entire universe.

These comics can get surprisingly dark for something based on a children’s cartoon. Still remember the dragon from Nightmare Knights who ate a few ponies offscreen while waiting in line.
