So, upon catching up some more on what’s been happening with G5, I took a look at the new villains and not gonna lie? That new alicorn looked like a deviantart oc from 2015. So after a bit of digging I gave her and her supposed “apprentice” some make-overs. Not gonna lie though, I loved the apprentice’s design, I just figured turning the pink/purple hues to a lighter blue could make things a little more cohesive, and drawing her too would give me a chance to work on drawing hair types I don’t usually draw, so double win!
Their cutie marks aren’t revealed yet, but man, I’m excited to see what they’ll be.

Their names both have the word “Mist” in it.
Their manes are both wavy.
They are unicorns.
They have like an ombre affect on their hooves. I’m guessing that Opaline could have been the former ruler of Mistmane’s village who got kicked out of the village or a friend of Mistmane’s who became evil or even the wife of King Sombra.
Because Magenta/mint green is an uncommon secondary (tertiary?) color pallette, and so people who aren’t familiar with color pairings sees them and think they don’t match, which is exactly the main problem aesthetically with 99% of bad OCs from the early fandom. So the logic is there, it’s just based in an incorrect assumption about Opaline’s color palette. Also, the lighting in the final scene of the first special did not do her any favors.
