if they forgot about Sprout, there would be no point in adding him to the game and comics. in addition, his voice actor is already listed as the main cast member on IMDb.

There’s a reason why Sprout is not likely going to show up in G5 very much and the reason is simple. Bad character design.
Sprout looks like a poorly redesigned version of Big Mac from fim so I doubt many G5 fans even cares about him anyway. They probably already forgot all about Sprout already.

Besides Hasbro’s main goal is to make the main characters of G5 popular with the fans and that’s they they’re doing right now.

Sorry, but it’s very likely that Hasbro has already forgotten about Sprout and moved on to other things with G5.

The characters you mentioned cannot be compared to Sprout because they have definitive fates in their movie. Storm King got killed. You literally see them playing with his corpse in the end credits. Tempest was befriended at the end of the movie. She was befriended with no other interpretation.

Now look at Sprout. Do you remember what happened to him at the end of ANG? Nothing did. He never had the chance to say he’s sorry but no one cared. No one reprimanded him, not even his mom. He certainly did not run away and he certainly did not hide. Unlike Tempest Shadow and Storm King, we just DON’T KNOW what happened to Sprout.

At the same time, G5’s story continues. Again, TYT references he existed through a wanted poster but no one ever explains this. In MYM, you see his award at the police station ripped up indicating he used to work there but not anymore. The only reason that can logically explain this is that Sprout is planned to return. Otherwise, they would have given him a definitive fate from ANG alone like what they did in the MBA game. Even if the events in MBA are not canon, its predicting Sprout’s future fate. That’s what the show runners want to do with him.

Also a new villain appearing gives Sprout even more importance to appear in future G5 stories. It gives him the chance for redemption plus he’s the only character that has the guts to fight other ponies. If the shadow alicorn uses her magic on Sunny, do you think she’ll fight back? Sunny firmly believes that “ponies don’t use their magic on each other” which is an absolute lie. I’m 100% sure she will be reluctant to fight another pony. If the shadow alicorn threatens Maretime Bay with her magic, I am 100% sure that Sprout is the only character that has the guts to stand up to an enemy threatening his home because we’ve already seen this.

Sprout showed up in the G5 movie not the G5 TV series.

Saying that Sprout will be in the G5 TV series would be like saying that The Storm King from the fim movie will be in the fim TV series. It’s not going to happen.

Yes, I’m aware that Tempest Storm did show up near the end of Season 9 of fim but just because she showed up for a cameo in fim doesn’t mean that Sprout will show up for a cameo in G5 too.

Hasbro clearly already has different plans in store for G5 besides Sprout as a new villain already showed up at the end of the G5 TV special making Sprout pretty much useless in G5 now.

That is actually not correct. In TyT, he had a wanted poster with no explanation. In MyM, his “Best Customer Award” hanging behind his desk at the police station is inexplicably torn in half. I would say Sprout is the hypest character of G5 because the show runners are making the viewers ask “where is he?”

To say that he has very little influence is also short sighted. Its like people have selective amnesia. They already forgot he was the catalyst that served the role of a crisis allowing the three tribes to work together. Sprout will play a very important role in the future because of one fact. All the other characters already know the lesson while Sprout is still poised to learn it.

That was more of a tounge-in-cheek side comment. Real talk tho, since the show came out I haven’t seen any fans talking about it. Honestly the comics before they even release get more attention than the game

Ehhh I don’t think his impact was that big in the movie. Honestly you can cut his character out of the film and 90% of the movie would remain unchanged. But alright, I was just giving my two cents about this

Well considering the only acknowledgement of Sprout is through that video game (that no one played) that came out a little while ago. The youtube shorts, the special, not even the comics so far are acknowledgment his existence which kind of shows that the makers have no intention of doing anything significant with his character. Which shows how little impact he has to the overall story which is something I would argue you can’t say about Starlight. Even in her fist episode she left more of an impact
