Huh, I didn’t know that. But yeah, that is kinda weird then.
I always thought that was curious. Why would it be out of their budget? Hasbro owns Boulder Media. Theoretically they would want to use an animation studio that they control as opposed to a third party studio. And by not using AAA actors for the voices of the characters they could have reduced costs significantly, as well. Oh well, it is what it is.

Really makes me wish Hasbro kept using Boulder Media for the TV show animation as well.
The animators did a fantastic job with the entire film. :)
