Look. You may not have heard of Airforce Delta Strike, but in that game, one of the antagonists, Albert Ungar, gets so obsessed with getting revenge on the protagonist for wronging him that he throws his entire life away and says word for word that he wouldn’t even care if the Earth was destroyed, so long as he could get his revenge. You don’t want to become like that, do you? What makes it so hard for you to forgive Discord?

I can see him thinking he can do better than Celestia and what he was doing was more about his ego than helping Twilight.
But it doesn’t really excuse how he went about it. It leaves one wondering if he’s really, truly turned over a new leaf, or he just decided he happens to like a few ponies and thinks of everyone else as fodder for his amusement.

The main point of the video is the theory that discord was trying to be like celestia but without the knowledge and experience that celestia has to understands the difference so u are kinda right. @Mediocre-Grimm u should check it out the full vid its definitely interesting

Huge difference between them was that Celestia never created a problem, she merely guided Twilight toward them. I think in the instance with Nightmare Moon she tried to stop Luna herself but knew she probably couldn’t defeat her without the elements, so she tried to guide Twilight into finding new ones.
Discord’s plan involved doing the exact same thing he did when he was evil. Deceiving people into doing his bidding and leading them to their doom.

Nope. Celestia wasn’t going around resurrecting the dead and foolishly uniting the enemies together. Plus, despite how radical her plans are, she seemed to have some contingency plan in place in case things went south. Not Discord who stupidly never kept an eye on the trio and never had a backup plan in case things went to Hell. Discord is a bad teacher and never thinks things through or learns from his mistakes.
