Double Rainboom felt complete alright, a complete failure that is. If you want to talk about making no logical sense how can the Double Rainboom move dash into another universe specifically the PPG one?
 
Then theres that Deus Ex Machina part where Pinkie Pie just saves the day,

At least Alicorn Twilight made sense even if people didn’t like it, unless you want to believe Twilight has had no reason for anything shes been doing for the past three years.

I forgot to mention: my favorite thing about Double Rainboom? The end credits. It was cute. :)

Don’t understand how this made Fimfiction look bad. As much crap as there is there, and there is tons of it that gets actual support, Fimfiction holds some of the best prose I have seen in a while, and that just goes to say that either the normal books have become more shit or we have some people who are competent there. Not great, for I wouldn’t buy any of those stories if they were books, but still better than… that thing which they called a story.

Well, I saw Double Rainboom and I have to admit it got a few smiles out of me. But if I were to critique it as a story, it would be… meh. Double Rainboom is eye candy – all rainbows and sparkles – but it lacks substance. While that FiMFiction post’s tone was rather harsh and uncalled for, I have to agree with the sentiment: there are some amazing fanfic and comic authors out there, some of whom are even capable of capturing the feel of the show (I’ve love to see an episode written by Egophiliac).
 
So anyway… Double Rainboom: fun, but not to be taken seriously. For what it’s worth, I enjoyed it, but I do wish it had been written better.

Well, since mods are closing comments on other pics and I whant to whine somewhere here about it and get my share of DELICIOUS ATTENTION, let’s do it this comment section. The thing is, Double Rainbow is not a “fan-made episode” but an animated fanfic. And a fanfic that is well, NOT VERY GOOD. If it was just another story on fimfiction I would say that this story is a victim of abortion performed on someone’s colon. And you know what I want to say to authors of such fanfics? I want to direct them to the nearest suicide booth. So the DR does have some fun moments, but in general - it was shit. And when I see shit - I feel free to say “that’s a piece of shit!” Of, and yeah, it’s not “bad ‘cause it’s got memes. It’s bad because it’s got nothing except ’em.

Oh, so they mean one of the many fanfic writers who shove a bunch of unncessecery ‘shipping, and ponies making out constantly, making villains sympethetic to the point where they’re hardly villains anymore, overpowered spotlight-stealing fan-characters, and such is better then this?
 
Sorry if I sound sour-grapes, but I’m just pointing out fanfiction isn’t always perfect either… Plus I’m sick of the “Double Rainboom” drama, I feel like I’m the Sonic fanbase again after the “Sonic fan film” short was released. (Which I didn’t think was to bad either. I mean they actually got Sonic’s original voice actor Jaleel White in it.)
 
It’s pointless to compare a fan-animated project to fanfiction. It’s like comparing video games to movies.

Agreed, definitely made that FiMFiction site look bad, in my opinion. I’ve read fanfics on that site MUCH WORSE then “Double Rainboom,” so it came off as rather conceited, and like pointless bashing.
 
I am so sick of the drama over this fan-animation. I admit it wasn’t perfect, and it felt more like a parody, then a legit episode, but I don’t care, it was still decent, had some funny moments, and the animation was impressive,

MMC smooshed multiple episodes worth of plot into a single episode, failed to make any logical sense, and none of the plot points were addressed adequately.  
DR’s plot at least felt complete.

I liked it. Was mostly like the show with rule of fun twist.

Iunno. With few exceptions, everyone who complains about the writing so far stops at “it’s just bad”. I have my own complaints about the pacing, but overall I had a lot of fun with the episode and didn’t find the writing to be this supposedly mind-breaking death of visual literature.
