Ridiculous. Spike managed to completely screw up even the simplest of chores, but there were other dumb aspects to SAYS as well. What about the absurd nature of AJ being ‘trapped’? What about Spike’s contrived ‘dragon code’ that came out of nowhere and was never heard from again? What about the tiny pebble killing that awesome Timber Wolf? The whole thing was rather stupid.
I completely agree. The recurring complaint that I hear is how Spike shouldn’t have been bad at helping AJ. But he was an overenthusiastic child. Plus the end of the episode shows he is good at helping Twilight, because he knows what she wants.
How about AJ getting stuck under a pebble?
I don’t get why “Spike at your Service” has become the new “Mare Do-Well” episode (I didn’t think that ep’ was so “horrible” either honestly.) I admit the plot was a bit cliche’ for cartoons, and Spike’s clumbsyness was a bit “Flanderized,” (to be fair he was shown to be a bit clumbsy in past episodes to) but I thought it was funny, and I liked how “cool” the Timberwolves looked. I’d like to see more of the monsters in the show.
That should be None of the Characters are in Character.
Ok then.

Instead are the fanmade products that can have more ambitions. They are not restricted by product placement and age restrictions.
From this point of view double rainboom failed most cause instead tried to be too much hasbro, and that was not necessary.
The episode being shit is your opinion. I have not disliked it so much.
Is a child show, kids up to 10 years old don’ t make mental masturbations about plot continuity, and momentary changes in characters. They need simple, immediate, and explicit (not sexually, it must not have hidden meanings) humor.
fanmade content can be shit and that’s fine, but the real show is supposed to be good
AJ is also too drunk. Cutting her off. She shouldn’t drink and trot at the same time.
if you offer differnt story mate
Would have been nice if they’d canned the episode altogether, and actually made a decent Rarity outing.
Pinkie was fine, but Rarity was practically a con-artist. And almost the entire population of Ponyville seemed to have suddenly decided to become total jerks. And then there’s Fluttershy… ooh boy.
For one, they made her even more submissive and reserved than EVER, just to force the story along. Then, after one dumb little course in one day’s time, the nicest pony in Equestria is now one of the cruelest, most abusive ones out there. The whole thing was a cliche, overused trope, and I was hugely disappointed by it. Bad enough they give Shy the “revolving door of assertiveness”, but that episode took things WAY too far. Even now, all you have to do is look at all the Fluttershy haters’ comments, and you’ll see them say how inconsistent she is, or that she’s passive aggresive and holds grudges, or just plain dumb. PYHD is largely the episode we have to thank for that kind of stuff.
Then I guess I should stop sharing my own, when I have it.
@Background Pony
Which is why I’d like to hear why the ponies were OOC in Putting Your Hoof Down.
you dont go to people and ask for their stuff anon,
Especially their liquor,ain’t right.
You know how Spike saved Applejack’s life in SAYS? Yeah, that was one of McCarthy’s edits. Originally, he saved Rarity’s life. McCarthy saw what Williams wrote and could see the implications of Rarity acting towards Spike as Applejack did. So she changed it. She also made the dialogue less harsh. That’s why there was no Rarity episode in S3, SAYS was supposed to be it.
McCarthy gets a lot of shit sometimes too, but she saw an episode that would have probably derailed all of Rarity’s carefully crafted characterization and turned it into an episode that at worst, is just a mediocre episode that can be forgotten.
If Fluttershy was in character the whole episode would not make sense.
It’ s about her trying to be different!
explain, because at best you could argue Fluttershy, but Pinkie Pie and Rarity looked to be well in character.
