I have this idea for a scene in my retcon of My Little Pony: Age of Equestria BOOK 1: The Return of Tambelon, where Emperor Grogar explains to Twilight Sparkle that being an Alicorn is a curse because it means that you will lose your friends as they grow old and die, power hungry unicorns will steal from you for being an Alicorn in order to make themselves into an Alicorn and Grogar even tells Twilight Sparkle that Princess Celestia didn’t bless her with wings, she cursed her with immortality, a royal title and a crown while claiming that he’s seen it before with Celestia and Luna and ‘Tia didn’t even think about the consequences of making her star pupil into an Alicorn and a future ruler of Equestria.
