I think it’s something that’s come from Manga … noses are not to be seen in Japan, so you draw the shadow of the nose instead of the nose itself. I was over there long enough that it just stuck with me.
I like it though - I think it’s a cute aesthetic. Like ‘fox fangs’ on devious people.

I see you’re using the manga style nose shadow, but it is such a sharp contrast that it makes it hard to parse the face. Was that intentional, to show shine or a highlight? Or is it an artifact of the image’s processing?
Something like a 60% opacity of the main skin tone might sell better, like this:
If that is more what you were going for, and your tools can’t do that, let me know and I’ll make an edit for you.
