There are some elements from the comics that would be interesting to see but… i don’t think Hasbro really cares IDW (With Boom Studios they have released many toys from the comics with Power Rangers), so i doubt they will use King Cat on G5.

Storm King is the strangest case of “comic character that became a movie villain” but was just an extreme reinterpretation of the 1980 one which cames from a british comic magazine. Or was a coincidence because not even Hasbro knows about 80s Storm King.

PD: It’s strange but i find more interesting the 1980 one for being the only villain who actually does his crimes for his people without bad intentions, even if it’s something childist as “i don’t want my citzens suffer with music from those ponies!”

Had the author being given a bit more freedom, we could have found out:

How this king rose to power
His relationship with his parents if he is one of them
If he’s truly evil like Sombra or misguided as Sprout is or even both
The origin of the magic negation equipment. Ironic if its from Storm King or Sombra
If the King can reform
The impact his rule has created.

Unless this gets touched upon on. Which sadly appears we won’t since g5 is now in development instead. Will the mane 5 find out about what happened in season 10? Will it even be canon? Who knows?

Magic drainers in MLP are cancer. MLP/Transformers did a better job with Discord than MLP itself.

PD: With all S10 stuff and how Discord actually make a dialogue with the abyssian civilization to make a war with the knights of harmony (or that’s what the knights said), why the cats didn’t overreact with his own existence and King Cat didn’t execute all the crew just because they are ally of the person who ruined their kingdom?

The knights argument can explain why there are material that drains Discord’s magic but don’t explain anything else.

PD2: It’s all Fluttershy’s fault, what exactly did she wanted to do to force Discord to don’t use magic? he would have been useful like a wildcard instead of being part of the main crew without doing magic, hell, even the magic drainers are a joke if Trixie can burn the collar and just need a hit to broke it.

PD 3: I really don’t know why people says the diamond dogs one shot is the worst one from the S10 when the cats one is objectively worse because of the terrible pace, everything accelerated by being cut off by external factors and all those logical errors that anyone with common sense would see
