You were resting peacefully on the grass, lying down on your back and looking at the night sky, the northern lights gently motioning over your head and the brightness of the stars illuminating the night, you were idly thinking that Princess Luna did really exhaust herself on this beautifulness of nighttime… atleast before your thoughts were interrupted somewhat abruptly when you heard some kind of music in the distance.
At first, you didn’t give it much attention, believing it was some group of colts having a party or similar, but, after a little while, you decided to turn your head towards the music, recognizing the lyrics. When you turned around to look at the source of the sound you were greeted by someone you knew very well.
“Aurora…” you silently uttered, while looking towards her, she was dancing and singing softly, beautifully you had to admit, her wings giving the vague resemblance of a ballerina. You couldn’t help but blush a little while you stood up slowly and looked at her, she was one of your nicest friends (If not outright the nicest of all), but you never saw this side of her…
She kept on dancing, seemingly not realizing that you were there, stepping softly on the grass while she moved, and just seemingly doing the thing she liked. You paid attention to the lyrics for an instant;
”When the sun is going down…”
”…I feel you coming closer…”
And about this time in the lyrics, she turned towards you while dancing, surprised eyes locked onto yours as she just realized that you were there, and her cheeks started coloring towards a greyish-red in what you knew what a blushing, her ears dropping slightly in what seemed to be the embarrassment of a plane pony that didn’t expect one of his friends watching her. Her look and her shy disposition made you blush a bit more.
She kept on looking at you, innocently skipping a line of the song, then, after some seconds, she smiled, a shy smile, but one nonetheless, her ears perking upwards a little and her eyes looking at you intently, you could’ve swear you saw stars on her eyes as she looked at you, that smile giving you diabetes overdose as you smiled back at her, then she gently and slowly raised one of her front hooves, towards you, like if it were an invitation to join her, the aurora borealis being like backlighting, illuminating her, both in the literal and metaphorical sense. Meanwhile, she kept on again singing the lyrics of the song she was currently dancing with…
”…I see you light up the sky…”
“…A dance in the night…”
”Aurora”
Her whole shyness combined with the fact that she was seemingly inviting you to dance with her under the starry sky made you gently walk towards her, despite your bashfulness, and take a hold of her soft, fluffy hoof. Upon contact, you could notice that she smiled a bit more, tugging you gently towards her as she continued singing softly and shyly.
”…I see the stars in your eyes…”
”…Believe in your lies…”
”Aurora”
You couldn’t help but shyly giggle at the fact that the Aurora plane pony was happily dancing a song that seemed to be named “Aurora” under a starry sky which featured an “Aurora”, such a coincidence. The plane pony in front of you seemingly noticed your giggle and smiled shyly, letting out a little giggle too, she probably knew that you found it funny the combination of names.
Then, she let go of you, while walking backwards a little on her two hindhooves, at the same time singing the song lyrics.
”Mine for a moment and then you’re gone…”
”…..And I’m still holding on…”
”…To a light in the sky…”
”…A dance in the night…”
”Aurora”
You couldn’t help but also softly say Aurora at the same time of the lyrics, action that made the plane pony in front of you blush a bit more, the tip of her ears becoming slightly red as she looked downwards bashfully.
The lyrics repeated themselves, in what seemed to be the end of the song, you smiled back towards the plane pony, and she looked at you with some little starry eyes, that shy smile that brought you to dance with her present, and, when the lyrics ultimately reached their finale, she darted forward towards you, you barely saw a gray/blue blur speed as she glomped you, making you fall on your back in the green grass, the plane pony on top of you hugging you tightly, gently nuzzling you. The song had already ended, but the plane pony still kept on smiling towards you…
Drawing I did of the Aurora bomber (Of C&C Generals fame) with the song “Aurora” of K-391 & RØRY, and as a background an Aurora Borealis upon a starry night. Someone suggested me on doing something love related and I couldn’t help but do this, since I found it cute.
The night sky was a mess to draw with my limited and honestly a bit sucky color pencils, but I’m a bit proud of how I did despite that. Her starry eyes are completely intentional, to fit with the lyrics, and, as always, I made her extremely fluffy, while also paying attention to details such as the roundels (Which are the ones on Generals, if I saw correctly)
Why most of my stories end with cuddling or hugging? Because that’s cute, that’s the only answer you need :P
