Description

“… Sweetie Belle, you weren’t designed with any sort of disk drive, let alone a drive for a long-dead medium. And even if you were, you wouldn’t want to see what’s on father’s old floppy disks.”
“Why?”
“… I suppose now’s as good a time as any to tell you about the birds and the bees.”

The 80s? You could still walk into a store and get 5 1/4 inch floppies in the mid 90s. 3 1/2 inch microfloppies were still dominant until the early 2000s until flash drives replaced them. HD (High Density) floppies held 1.44 megs of data but there was an ED (Extended Density) disk format that could hold 2.88 megs. It never caught on because CD-ROMS replaced those for storing large amounts of data, along with other formats like Zip Disks.
