I was thinking a minute ago about a way this show could be good, and I realized something: what if the entire thing is them using a spell to try to disguise themselves as humans so they can do research on our culture, and the spell fails miserably due to either poor spellwork, or them having very little information on humans? it could be a hasbro endorsed ponies in real life series. still, if they did it right they could make an amazing show, but they wouldn’t do it right if they’re trying to uphold the status quo.

Even though the first image that was “published” (>>238985), which may or may not be official, shows what seems to be some kind of school hallway, we still don’t know for sure if that’s actually the show’s setting.
 
As far as I know, all that’s official is the drawing at the top and some vague information in a business newspaper stating that Equestria Girls is a new show from Hasbro.
 
The rest,as far as I can tell, are all assumptions and I’ll reserve my opinion about the show until I can actually see it.

I’m assuming it from previous fan-works (which if EG is produced by people other than the people that make FiM it IS a fan work) where they take characters from something good, put them in school, and it magically makes anything that said fan-work touches tainted when within an eighty web-page radius.

I find it interesting that a lot of people are assuming sooooo much about this new show from only two pictures.

First impressions are a thing, you know. If you’re going in for a job interview, the difference between a good and bad first impression is a new job or lack thereof.

I’ll say here what I said on another pic saying pretty much the same thing; if you’ve been in the world of fanfiction as long as I have you learn to realize that the concept of taking the characters from one series and throwing them into a highschool setting NEVER works out. when I said I’d found exactly TWO “highschoolification” fanfics that I could even tolerate (not love, tolerate) the existence of, in the span of over ten years I meant it!
