There’s something refreshing about heading outdoors and doing it the traditional way (with a small chainsaw). Plus you need to buy a permit and follow some rules regarding height and proximity to other trees.
An Equestrian one.
I’ve never understood the appeal of cutting down a tree in the wild. Going to a lot on a farm smells nice, has a ton of variety, and you’re guaranteed not to bring home any sleeping critters. You can even buy a tree from charities. Not to mention that, since wild spaces are mostly gone now, you’re probably stealing someone’s tree if you just go in the woods and cut one down…
