In some ways, this version song is better. But overall, I prefer what we got in ANG’s official release. This version has a more humorous edge to it, but I prefer that in the final version, Hitch is treated as a full equal to the girls and isn’t used as comedy fodder. Case in point? 2:17, Hitch is just thrown out of frame, while in the movie Sunny and Izzy comfort him, and they’re all smiling at the end, showing that he’s been convinced.
Is the animatic funnier? Yes, but comedy shouldn’t undermine the message of unity and cooperation the movie is pushing. It would have been so easy to take the path of least resistance and make Sheriff Hitch a “dumb boy” character in what’s essentially a girl’s movie. I’m glad they decided to take the higher road and make g5 feel more inclusive.

The voices and music in this video sound notably different than the final version we’re familiar with. My guess is this was made with temporary voiceover and audio before any of the actual voice actors recorded any lines.
