Probably fake, but if true then yes it’s murder and she just admitted it openly.
See, the person could argue gross negligence manslaughter (careless action without the intention of killing), or wilful negligence (intentionally neglecting their duties to assist someone but without knowing it for sure that they’d be in danger), but they would be false. The person know fully well what was happening, so the criminal intent (the mens rea, the guilty mind) definitely applies. That would already cause it to be a serious crime if they simply did nothing to assist.
HOWEVER, and the person admitted this herself, they actually 1. put the victim in a position that would increase the danger to their life 2. prevent that they call for help. There is no excuse that could save you from being charged with murder under those conditions.
I’d say this is a joke or the person is pretty dumb to admit this, even on the internet.
I don’t think there’s any real difference between actively killing someone and choosing not to prevent their death. It’s an odd quirk of the human mind that we treat inaction as fundamentally different from any other kind of action, but the universe itself doesn’t make that kind of distinction.

I Am Not A Lawyer (and even if I was, I’d be staying the hell away from Criminal trials), but I think you’re correct.
I knew it wasn’t Reckless Endangerment or Involuntary Manslaughter, but I couldn’t think of the right term.
Actually, reading the post again, this dude wasn’t negligent at all. He took away the phone and moved the chair, thus involving himself. This was actual honest-to-God manslaughter. (I would say murder, but the dad was already having a heart attack and there’s a likelihood he would have died even if an ambulance got there in time).
@sixtyfour215
It’d just be negligence if the perpetrator had simply left the room without touching him or taking away the phone. But since they intentionally took the phone away to prevent a 911 call, refused to render aid they knew how to and were perfectly capable of providing AND intentionally placed him in a position that would hasten his demise, it’s homicide.
@The Twelfth Doctor Whoof
I’d say it’s murder. He intentionally altered his resting position to increase the effects of the heart attack. The father could have maybe survived on his own with out that.
This is similar to someone cutting themselves and passing out, then you administering anticoagulants and walking away.

The account name is “ponythrowawaydinky”. I’m going to make a wild guess and say that he probably knows how to use a proxy such as tor to hide his identity.
Also, somehow I knew that somewhere amongst the people who obsessively insist that Derpy is Dinky’s mother (despite all evidence to the contrary), there might be at least one homicidal maniac.

Actually, considering the circumstances in this particular instance, in the US it IS homicide and subject to all related punishments. If there was literally no way they could have helped, then it would be different, but actively and willfully obstructing aid means it’s still very much homicide.
Considering this got posted on 4chan, chances are they’ve already figured out his real ID, and will forward this to the cops, who will very likely arrest this dude and get him charged with manslaughter.
(the father died on his own; the son could have helped but didn’t; that’s not “murder” in a you’re-getting-the-needle sense, but it’s still a crime)
This is starting to remind me of the time some dolt announced on Facebook that he’d robbed a store (or maybe it was a bank)…the police had little trouble finding out who the robber was.
Seriously, I get tired of hearing everyone nowadays whine about how their life somehow sucks because of their dad. I guess we have Freud to thank for that.
My dad is cool too. I must be one of the few people who doesn’t use the internet as a way to escape from their parents.
I need to go.
My dad’s in the Klan.
My grandpa is what got me into (G4) ponies.
Figure this family dynamic out.

I must be the odd one out on the internet because my Dad’s a pretty cool dude…
Doesn’t get the computer and internet thing though.

I think it’s called Criminal Negligence, right?
Not really.
