I literally just read Sonichu for the first time.
Or rather, tried to, because it’s astoundingly incomprehensible.
At least this plot makes actual sense at every point.

Damn son you sound mad salty, please tell me how it’s Chris Chan shit? the writers characters are not self inserts and this is a comic book of a god damn stupid kids cartoon about rainbow ponies, friendship and how magical it is, they just thought “what if humans made the ponies for magic lol XDDDDDD” and it snowballed from there… cope and seethe.

That and the directors dialogue and character seems to be rather 1 dimensional and rather short sighted in an unnatural manner that no sane person or “man of science” would want to.
You do realize that the administrators of scientific institutions aren’t usually “men of science,” right? I’m sure my fellow grad students could write an entire dissertation about the shortsightedness and incompetence of university administrators.
I mean, magic isn’t the greatest thing to solve in science really, but I guess we’ll just pretend that is the case. Nevermind things like a cure for cancer or ways to provide basic resources needed for survival like food and water to those whom are not able to easily access it.
Did you miss the part where this magic literally allows thoughts to shape reality? The castle-ified house, the impossible door, the professor’s plans for using excess magic to thoroughly renovate a section of the new house? By understanding and mastering this same power, you could address all the problems BigOnionbean cited, and so much more.
Celestia or “Princess” as she is also called would be more or less viewed as a pet as oppose to a child.
Except that pets aren’t usually gifted with human-level sapience and magical powers. And given how some pet owners already think of their dogs/cats/other almost as children, is it really that far-fetched for a teenaged girl to treat a fully sapient magical creature as her own child?

I think this short string of comments here on the first 20 or such pages sets up the bar for how I overall feel on the story (just gonna post a few so as to not flood the comments section with to large a response):
I told myself that I would read this whole thing through in an attempt to understand how this has gone on for so long and whether or not it is worth the praise or not….

Already we are off to a rather confusing start, with details that are omitted here being rather out of nowhere as if we were to expect to know about things such as “merger magic user DNA”. Even then, that depends on what you define as “magic”

That and the directors dialogue and character seems to be rather 1 dimensional and rather short sighted in an unnatural manner that no sane person or “man of science” would want to. Apart from the beaurocracy of paperwork and procedures, if one were to see this guy have created an entirely new creature such as a “pony” especially one that can tap into a new field of energy then the last thing i would do is fire said person…

But hey, its an internet comic…I am expecting there to be many things left unanswered and unexplained…
I mean, magic isn’t the greatest thing to solve in science really, but I guess we’ll just pretend that is the case. Nevermind things like a cure for cancer or ways to provide basic resources needed for survival like food and water to those whom are not able to easily access it.

I mean sure, let your child play around with something that supposedly has the ability to change the world in a physical with a not yet fully understood form of energy…
Ummmm, wait how old is this girl anyways?

Cuz believe me when I say I have NEVER seen a kid that is THAT devoted to roleplay as a mother. Sure girls play with dolls and all, but if anything Celestia or “Princess” as she is also called would be more or less viewed as a pet as oppose to a child.
There is about 10-17 other comments that this guy makes that I could say I agree with in the realm of criticism of such.

I… feel like you’re saying words, but you’re lacking a lot of the context of what you’re talking about. Considering that there’s no self-inserts anywhere on here, (the artist/writer is a dude, and does other art stuff). Sonichu is both a pedo and also a weird -literal- MF’er.
And what inconsistencies? The only ‘inconsistency’ is that magic does weird crap centralized around the viewpoint of the ‘newly created alicorns.’ Which is nothing different than any fanfiction on FimFic or FF.net.
Plenty of “Celestia and Luna are daughters of humans”/Aliens/Freaking Emperor of Mankind stories out there that are really well written… so Either you’re just grabbing words and terms, or I’d like to see a legit criticism and highlight the inconsistencies, and the ‘dysfunctional worldbuilding,’ you’re mentioning.
EvergreenSpindles

Why does this whole comic after reading it give me heavy Chris Chan vibes here? The self insert center of the universe headcannon, confusing or dysfunctional worldbuilding, mounds of inconsistencies (and no that does not get excused just cuz “muh magic”), and an overall vault of cringe resembles more the likes of sonichu than anything

From the start, the Director had just a Draconequus’ arm! Now that he’s a full draconequus, he’s got the power to actually deal with Celestia and Luna!

@Valiant Spiral
Discord is a separate character entirely. He appears briefly at the beginning of Book 6. Much like Celestia and Luna, in this story, he is a synthetically created magical creature created by The Director’s company. The Director’s transformation was due to him accidentally breaching baby Discord’s containment wards.
