You haven’t seen the G5 movie yet? It isn’t too late, though. As said before on DeviantArt from one my journals, those who have not seen the G5 movie yet must find a chance to watch the movie as much as possible. Not everyone on this site has seen the G5 movie. We still have plenty other people, including some Derpibooru staff members, missing the recent movie. You still have some time.

Currently, we’re trying t’ get everyone seeing the G5 movie.

I haven’t seen G5 yet and I’m not sure if I want to I used to hate MLP in all its forms until my daughter was born and we started watching it together, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the show and everypony in it and I just don’t see how G5 could ever hope to compete as from what I’ve read the main story of G5 completely undoes everything Twilight and her friends worked so hard for, more than 1000 years of peace and harmony and now it’s just gone?? that is easily one of the most depressing things I’ve ever heard of. So I am of a certain opinion can G5 be as good as G4? no magic, no friendship, no harmony, and most important of all…NO PINKIE PIE, they should have just kept going with G4 till after I’m dead and gone so I never would have had to say goodbye.

Given enough time, yes. I say that as someone old enough to remember the original reception to both TNG and DS9 compared to earlier Star Trek outings, yet now both are seen as undisputed masterpieces. In case you weren’t aware, TNG was originally seen as “too PC” and “too boring” compared to TOS, and DS9 was seen an “too dark/against Gene’s vision” and “too different.”

G4 was lighting in a bottle no one saw coming. It was literally meant to end in “Season 3”. I’m not going to hold g5 to those impossible standards, yet I will show love regardless of how it plays out

Honestly, while I think it will take time, I personally do feel like G5 will be just as well loved as G4 was, though naturally people will be very skeptical about it in the beginning.

Why no both?

I mean, it depends on the person and if G5 will have the same quality as G4 which IMO, won’t have but I don’t mean that as a bad thing. G5 can be a good generation in its own right rather than having it be the same as G4 or even comparing the two.

I love G5 almost as much as G4. I think it’s good enough to replace G4.
