Their colors indicate their place in society. Which incidentally means Pony Karkat is problematic to draw.

These two canonized fantrolls for example do not share a symbol with the others. Their colors however determine them to be highbloods.

Cute, but I’ve never liked the use of the zodiac symbols as cutie marks. They indicate where the trolls lie in their society, not what they’re good at.
