given that this give me more history to this world I can say this.
now I know for a fact (unless the artist proves me wrong) is that the killing of twilight and flurry heart was planned out, think about it is a common tactic in real life to make a leader rule with love and giving free stuff away, aka twilight and flurry heart doing just that by rising there standard of living with the public with libraries and more so the people of the world can put more work into doing peaceful stuff putting down there arms and more.
after all, why buy weapons for your self-defense and war when you live in peacetime when that money can be used to better one own life?
the gem cards are made to make a class system that forces people to stay where they are and never move up in the world, after all when you keep making people fight each other there no need to police them to stay in power.

Newsflash: Just because you are fighting against someone who’s far worse you aren’t automatically the good guy. Sometimes this just makes you the lesser evil.
It’s brave to fight against an oppressive regime and she’s right about this being no fairy tale. But she didn’t even try to reign in her troops or to minimize the causalities. She let them do whatever they wanted, because having an army was more important than any collateral damage, thus becoming not much better than the Empire she was fighting against.
