Transcript:
DM: Celestia leads you on a walk through the mysterious plane, and as she does so, images of your shared memories appear alongside you. From the moment you became her personal student to very recently.
Twilight Sparkle: Huh. That’s not… portentous at all.
Princess Celestia: Still waiting on the answer to that hypothetical, Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle: Well… I dunno! I think you won’t be surprised to find out that I’m not a big fan of the idea of “destiny.” That everything’s pre-determined and that our choices and actions are just illusions. I mean, philosophically they kind of are, but… More in the sense that we’re all atoms bouncing off each other in space. Every day the world turns should be a miracle – an unexpected surprise.
Princess Celestia: So you’d say the universe isn’t set in stone, but is in many ways measurable. And perhaps someone who’d been watching the velocity of everything for a very long time… could predict where those atoms might end up. Would that be “destiny”?
Twilight Sparkle: …I think, in this case, it might be better to drop the metaphor and say what you really mean.
Princess Celestia: True, we got a little lost in the weeds there. You’ve always been a gifted student of magic. But when you unlocked the Elements of Harmony on the first day of what I thought would be Equestria’s longest night… I had a feeling this moment was coming. It was only a matter of time.
