That last bit would be interesting to see
Twilight’s Kingdom showed they cannot fly if their magic is drained. If you’re referring to non-ponies flying that’s also magic or real life fliers.
Um…Flight is definitely magic, and always has been since G4. Sure, the basic flight mechanics isn’t magic, but realistically the wings that Pegasi have should not be able to hold up an entire horse, regardless of size. The only reason they could fly at all was because magic gave their wings more lift than they would have otherwise.
This is true. Honestly, the fact that the Pegasi solved many core flight mechanics that we use in the real world to understand how to create aircraft, it makes me wonder if the Pegasi were trying to figure out how to create a turbine or jet pack that would enable them to fly again (since they already have the wings, meaning all they need is the source of propulsion to achieve flight). Obviously with magic restored this is no longer needed, but it does make me curious about what they were planning on doing with their studies on wing design, air speed velocity, and lift.
We saw Zipp hovering above a turbine generating upward airflow & gliding back down in the old airship terminal, so their wings hypothetically could have arrested their fall enough to at least allowed them to fall with style. ^^
Oh don’t forget. All the floating buildings and everyone in them also fell to destruction. Remember Bespin? Turn off the anti gravity engine and see how long that lasts.
