Another attempt at a more “realistic” style combined with the charm/roughness of the original sketch (with some erasing but not too much). I really messed around with shading and brightness and contrast with this one. I’m sure over time I’ll figure out a method, but I was all over the place with this. Mostly I just had the solid base color layers for a few areas, and used “alpha inheritance” in Krita, which is a very handy feature for keeping things in a specific area (like shine/shading layers). In the future, I might shy away from this and just blend colors together (this is all just black & white on top of solid colors), but I do like the final feel that came out of it.
