I guess the best way to put it is there will always be contradictions and plot holes in episodes that make it seem like previous episodes never existed. That’s why I say don’t look hard into it as deeply as “Everything wrong with-” video series.
I mean, Andy Price did say that Hasbro declared that comic arcs/lore/etc. are only canon until the show contradicts, so…

Oh right, that was how it was retconned, with the reveal that Starswirl vanished long enough before Luna’s Fall that he couldn’t have been around when she started “feeling distant” as Celestia put it in the flashback.
Other than Starswirl not mentioning it? I don’t think so.
I forget, didn’t the show retcon this arc somehow?
