It’s a period for amish teens/young adults to live in the outside world and decide whether to join this new world or return to their old lives
Well, i don’t know what the author intendet because it’s a southern german dialect for “to jump around” and there is no chance that english speakers would get it…
Yes, a few lines and then we never see them again (okay, one appearance in a wide shot). That’s the definition of a cameo role.
Google is your friend, but I’ll answer anyways.
It’s a time when young Amish girls go out into the real world for a time before committing themselves back to their culture.
And did any of them have more than a cameo role? No. That was my point.
Hell, the central character’s parents have never even had a line in 3 seasons.
I could dig that.
Never gonna happen though; the writers seem to have a taboo against featuring parents in anything but cameo roles. Because parents aren’t an important element in the lives of the real target audience or anything.
The icing on the cake would be that both Mrs. Pie and Pinkie would be all somber and serious for the entire episode, but their hairstyles would change throughout the episode as it reflects their true feelings.
That would be the basis for an interesting episode.
Pinkie’s parents come to Ponyville to tell her she’s wasted enough of her life on parties & lunacy…it’s time to grow up. Pinkie is totally intimidated by her parents and cowed into submission. She actually starts to believe it herself & begins to say goodbye to her old life.
It’s up to her friends to convince Pinkie’s parents that she does have a real life in Ponyville, that she is an important member of the community.
