Of course there’s a fourth but as you might have guessed
he doesn’t understand what it is to be a mage,
but we’re gonna tell you now, gonna open that cage, gonna let you in,
gonna turn the page in the book that is the story of our lives, the glory of a Fantasy, a Final Fantasy, and if you wanna hear about it I’m the man to see
Believe me, you’ll feel OP as hell after grinding weapon/shield levels to 16.

Damn, FFII had the WORST level up system in the franchise. The encounter and status effects are retarded. Monster in the Box!(A Gigas inside). Don’t even get me started on those empty rectangular rooms that have ridiculous encounter rates. that game was truly a nightmare.
MP only became a thing in FFII and then later FFIV onwards. FFIII still used the D&D style Wizard spellslots.
The game is older than I am. Of coarse, I didn’t know this until now.
The Mages in the first Final Fantasy were the closest to the Dungeons & Dragons Wizards: you only had so many spells you could cast per day, which would be replenished by going to an inn or using a cottage.
It wasn’t until later games and remakes of the first where they introduced the more familiar MP (Magic Point) system.
Tootsie the Red
Ruby the Black.
