Jokes on you I don’t enjoy my life regardless so I’m keeping that log in my arse to at least feel something in life. Applejack is not a background pony. That joke is terrible and cringy and never funny. This is the only joke in the world I’ll be the stick in the mud about and I don’t care if that makes me sound stupid.
Sadly, I think you’re right. And I don’t even care what other things the fandom does even now. My biggest pet peeve is just this stupid background pony joke. It wasn’t funny then, it certainly isn’t now. And just when I thought we finally got past that someone would make that joke again. That’s the real funny part: my blissful ignorance.
I have to hard disagree. And I’m pointing out that the fandom doesn’t “improve” as much as you like to think it does.
Lyrabon is still just as interesting as before, with all the different dynamics and funny examples like l.u.l.s.
Besides, what does that have anything to do with this? One aspect of the fandom was better in the past means every aspect was? That past fandom was better because they made ships better but also made edgy and mean-spirited jokes? “Applejack is a background pony” joke is still an old unfunny and cringey joke that should’ve been gone already.
Than why is Lyrabon more bland and one-note and bland than the first year of the fandom?
Well, it is a terrible joke. Doesn’t matter how popular it is. And just like the first BP said, it’s an old and unfunny joke that needs to move on. Isn’t that what life is about: Improvement?

Yes, she’s definitely a background character since she’s right here eating apple with the rest of the main cast. That backgroundness definitely doesn’t exist but nice of you to point that out I guess.
Honestly, if you’re gonna come off as off-putting to other people, just know that there’s a line that you shouldn’t try to cross
