Technically, no. I typed a long, long reply concerning Transformers characterizations, name trademarks, cross branding, brand synergy, adaptations. To be fair, Prime could be bad at acknowledging the passage of time anyway.  
But yeah, Prime Knock Out was stated by the writers at a convention to not be gay, just there was a glitch involved in his creation causing him to be who he was.  
Compared to that, the G1 one version just being gay seems a better option.

Nope. It took him half a dozen episodes to even aknowledge breakdown was missing and even than all he missed was having someone handy with a buffer.
 
Expirmentimg on silas (and in so doing desecrating breakdowns corpse) was a job hed have done anyway and the fact it was the same guy who experimented on breakdown was just a bonus he found amusing.

It’s funny, In the original show knock out didn’t give a shit when breakdown was murdered.
It’s only by fan demand that they’ve been retroactively turned gay for each other.
At least when it happened to Lyra and Bon Bon it made sense. They were always hanging around each other and the relationship was canonized during the shows run.
 
Actually he did give a shit. He was also rather upset when Silas took over his corpse and later used “Cylas” as a guinea pig.

I still think they should have had the Stunticons in this mini-series with Knockout as the seventh member. The G1 version of Breakdown was a member of the Stunticons, and other than the Prime version being bulkier, they roughly have the same design, white/blue colours and orange face all.
 
They probably could have done something more with their relationship with that as well, since Combiner Teams literally merge their consciousnesses together when they combine.

They managed to get a couple of Transfomers Prime Cybertronians in the crossover, eh?
These two lugnuts have been in the previous IDW Transformers continuity, so there was already precedent. Moreover, this Knockout is now the official Evergreen version, outstripping older name holders in Hasbro’s eyes.
 
Well, the old one was a Micromaster who transformed into half of a vehicle…actually found him and the rest of the Constructtor Squad in the attic.

The magic of friendship works against Sombra`s spell, by making use of emotional ties to strengthen the original personality and break the false personality that was planted with the spell. But I can see a disadvantage; there are many who are simply not friendly with each other after millions of years of uninterrupted war. They need more.
