Keep in mind, Cold-Blooded-Twilight has been the artist’s unique blog art variation character of Twilight for 8 or 9 years now, but beyond a few details here and there, I’m not sure the artist has done an actual serious backstory or true character bio sheet on her. Not until the Cold Storm comic, so its only natural the artist has had a lot of time to think about her character in a more developed light. : )
 
Her blog version of her is lust filled and vaguely ruthless, but doesn’t seem to be unwillingly cursed.
 
This comic seems to be trying to make an AU that keeps with the sexual themes of the blog but also seems to give a legitimate conflict with why Twi is the way she is, even if it hasn’t gotten to the details quite yet.
 
However the most unique inclusion so far, outside Twi herself, is the writer’s version of Rainbow Dash from 8 years ago.

Despite the main character being Twilight, the author, even more so then the actual show sometimes, acknowledges like a lot of other fans do that RD has some serious main character energy, both figuratively and literally. Her sonic rainboom IS the reason any of them became elements afterall.
 
So the comic emphasizes that RD is a bit different from her Ponyville Cold Storm counterparts. Twilight is noticing her power and weather control is absolutely remarkable and reflects RD’s insane physical standards for herself. RD’s also catching on that something is off with Twilight, and isn’t just going along with her advances like the other Ponyville Ponies are.

She seems to be taking whoever is willing, and often being the one to make advances. She seems to have no interest in actual romance, and seems to be an expert flirt depending on the circumstances.
 
RD maybe the exception to the ‘no interest in romance’ aspect, as Twilight’s cursed self and her true self seems to be flipping back and forth with her interactions with Rainbow Dash, as RD’s earnest nature and remarkable talents seem to constantly catch her off guard and make Twilight blush, while at the same time, adding fuel to the fire on her cursed urges to have RD.

I’m pretty sure the default of her curse is something akin to ‘absorbing the warmth from someone’s soul by eating it’, again, why I’ve suspected her curse is wendigo related….
 
….but her alternative for insatiable desire for warm soul energy for the emptiness in her cold running blood is, well, sex. In other words, to keep herself from succumbing to the curse’s worst notions, she has to absorb as much tantric energy from a pony as possible, thus making her sort of a sex addict.
 
Spike knew Twilight was going to have a go with the mayor, with Spike not being in close proximity with her and whatever binding seal is on his hands. He was hoping Twilight having relations with the mayor would warm up her soul for a good amount of time, but when he saw and felt her cutie mark, it was still cold and black and he fell into despair thinking the curse was just getting worst, and truth be told, she nearly ended up killing Mayor Mare but restrained herself.
 
So yeah, her curse is most definitely getting worse.

Your example would be cannibalism within an omnivore species.  
Griffons and ponies aren’t the same species. Griffons are also carnivores (or should be since they are half eagle half lion)

Can I just say how well drawn this is? I’ve always had a thing for motion panels in comics and manga. It looks simple at first, but drawing something that’s moved incredibly fast and getting it looking right can be tricky.

That doesn’t quite explain the severity of spike’s reaction upon leaving the town hall. My thought is that she’s cursed in some way. It sounds almost like it’s a daily struggle between life and death directly pertaining to temperature and lust vs love.

Well we’ve seen, at least in this comic, Twilight seems to have trouble… getting off . If I was looking at this seriously. This issue she has turned her into a bit of a sexual deviant, looking for that one connection that will satisfy her.

What intrigues me about Twilight in this comic is is she good or is she bad? Or is it the cliche of the good protagonist who likes to act with malice typical of anime?
