I’ve decided she’s basically the main character of a JRPG. Started out with missions as simple as stuff like “go deliver this package to this town” and it slowly escalated. She’s at the end game now where she’s level 70-ish, has broken equipment, so much money it’s basically worthless to her, and a whole collection of items she’s going to never use because she wants to “save them for when she actually needs them” XD

Derpy has a knicknack drawer at home for some of the rare things she’s found or been given on her travels. Several Equestrian Pink Hearts of Courage, a Nether Star, an Eventide entry pass and work permit, an amulet that lets her enter and leave any level of Tartarus, a Quartz Charm, a piece of a machine that she doesn’t know what it goes to but it might be important and she’d better not get rid of it even though she’s had it for 17 years, a Pink Tail, several Charon’s obols, Dinky’s first baby tooth, a gold medal she got for racing before her eyes went bad, a Climax Bracelet, and a handful of different currencies she’s collected from different countries which she thought were “neat” :P

I still personally headcanon that Derpy is a national hero, and the only reason she got absolutely no fanfare for saving Twilight’s life in the movie is because she does that sort of stuff so often they just take it for granted. Like how Twilight and them only got big parades for Nightmare Moon and Discord, but none of the rest of the villains: at some point saving the day stops being “heroic” and starts being “your routine job” in that world XD

I like to think that, since Equestria is basically a crazy fantasy world full of monsters, that prolific deliveryponies are these globetrotting adventurers who go on these big high-concept quests and save the day and battle monsters and become legends… all to deliver your Amarezon package or water bill on time. It’d explain why Derpy consistently appears at every high-profile event in Equestria and was shown among Canterlot Elite: the gal’s life is basically end-of-Final-Fantasy-game where her money is in the 8 digits and she has no clue what to spend it on XD

Derpy’s a pretty international mare. She has pretty intimate knowledge of monster pony cultures, how to act and react, which ones actually are dangerous, and can even somewhat competently speak several of their languages. Fun fact, she is one of the few ponies who can enter harpy territory without being attacked :P

Of course. In Badum’s verse, lamia ponies are natural cuddle bugs, and if Derpy delivers to their homeland, then she’s likely had enough interactions with them to have learned this fact.

There are a lot of creatures in that world that can impregnate males, and like @Background Pony #E15C said, Shiny gets around. It’s actually weird for adventurers in that world to NOT get busy with monsters XD
