Not necessarily. There were two side ponies with similar names in the show before that didn’t seem like they were related.
Wouldn’t that suggest they are brothers, like the Apple family
I vote “Peppermint” and “Spearmint” respectively!
I’m surprised the fanon hasn’t come up with names for them yet.
