In some episodes, she was kind and respectful towards Spike, but in some cases, like in “Simple Ways” she took advantage of Spike by having him help her get Trenderhoof’s attention, while knowing how Spike secretly felt about her.

And yes, she did make up for it a few seasons later, like in the “Best Gift Ever” episode, but I still think the writers could have done a much better job handling their relationship, even if it was never intended to be a romantic one.

Rarity may have not been a stranger to using her charms to bend Spike to her will, but most of the time, Spike voluntarily helps her out. Not only that, Rarity often rewards him for his efforts, and on many occasions, she has even treated him better than Twilight. In other words, Rarity and Spike’s relationship is nowhere near as one-sided as you make it out to be.

As much shit people have already said about Pony Life, at least this version of Rarity wasn’t a slut and didn’t take advantage of Spike’s feelings for her by having him do stuff for her.
