Sorry, it wasn’t meant to sound like that. I kinda made up the theory only for fun/come up with a good reason why he wasn’t up there with the others.
 
And I assure you that I don’t wear tinfoil on my head all the time. I only wear my tin foil hat once a month thank you very much

You could make the argument that she sees him more like family than a friend, and so that’s why he didn’t go up there.

He walked in the parade though.

I thought about this for a while, and I realized, all friendship reports involving him, were something that he himself learned. Twilight talks about how her friends taught her something. It doesn’t mean she values him any less as a friend. He was her first real friend in Canterlot (not including her BBBFF), but you notice that she acts distant and cold to him. Why? Because she didn’t know how to act towards a friend. It wasn’t until the other elements taught her about friendship, that you see her warm up to him. So if anything, she thanks the ponies for helping her to be a better friend, especially to him.

And not a single dragon was complimented that day.

He isn’t her friend like the others, he’s more like a servant. So of course she wouldn’t include him in this. Makes sense to me.
