Description
It’s a teacup.
I used GIMP to do the gradient effect, which almost felt like cheating but was basically necessary for me to convey what I was trying to do. Plus it made everything look at least 20% cooler.
Everything else was done in Paint like I usually do.
Constructive feedback welcome and appreciated.
Hope you enjoy!

Paint still fun indeed. For me GIMP is fun to draw with.
Never tried a drawing pad. I feel like that might give me the same issues that are keeping me from just drawing on a tablet or paper: I just don’t have a steady, practiced hand for that. I just draw slowly with a mouse, sometimes pixel by pixel, which takes a while and makes the image, well, pixelated, but it’s the best I’ve been able to do so far. A poster on the forum suggested I try vector graphics so I’ve been playing with that this morning. It would be an entirely different look than my Paint drawings, but maybe I can take a step forward that way. But the challenge of making something worthwhile in Paint is still fun.
Ever thought about buying a drawing pad? Easier than drawing with a mouse.
I started out just as you do. I started drawing in MS paint too and drawing with a mouse.
I am actually very supportive to people who are drawing in MS paint.
I use a mouse.
Do you draw with tablet or mouse?
Not sure. I’m probably going to use Paint unless I have some reason I need to use GIMP, like for the effect on the teacup. Just because it’s what I’m used to. If I can get skilled enough I may branch out and try another tool for drawing. (Paint.NET maybe?)
I appreciate the compliment!
Are you going to keep using paint or use GIMP more?
