These curses are always ironic. The kind of thing that is often only really seen as bad by the person afflicted by them. Like, this kind of curse could easily turn a pony like Sprout into an alicorn. To everyone else that’s an upgrade, but to Sprout it’s Tartarus on Equestria :P
Also Zephyr Breeze XD
RarityElusive and Big Mac are soooo going to be happy!Ha ha ha! I’m far from the first though, sad to say XD

The resulting foal is going to be so confused if that ever happens…
Especially since she looks like Rainbow Dash now, minus the colors. She is THIS close to getting some Rarijack action if she plays her cards right :P
@Silent Wing
That curse can’t destroy life no matter what, even as a result of it being cured. If she gets pregnant the curse is incurable until after she’s given birth :P
Well, she could turn it into a permanent thing, just has to find somepony willing to get her pregnant. I certanly would do that. :D

Right? He, or rather now she, has a rare opportunity to experience lesbian shenanigans. Hopefully Spike doesn’t let that chance go to waste.
The Dude abides
… As a mare.
I would flip a coin on that one.
A protein-guzzling testosterone-pusher? Yes.
A super-self-conscious fem-boy who hates being mistaken as a female? Yes.
A dude? Nah. ’They too chill to care about which sex is which.
I wholeheartedly support this idea. Would love to see it turned into a fanfic.
Spike: “Bright side? What bright side?”
Me: “This looks more like a gift. And instead of a curse, you might actually have a chance with Rarity…”
Sure. Admittedly the concepts of morality endlessly fascinate me. Sometimes you just gotta give me a slap to shut me up XD
Yeah, that’s why I’m gonna stop here. I think I already made too many comments. It is fun to talk about the show like this again though. Haven’t done that in a while.
@Wayneponeth
As much as I like seeing this image again and again, it seems to me this conversation has become unrelated to it. Couldn’t this discussion take place in a forum or something like that?
Still though, I’d say it’s very telling that the ponies seem more confident in letting Discord operate on his own than they do with Starlight. Though that could just be chalked up to their astonishingly bad and biased decision-making. It’s safe to say that it’s only via sheer dumb luck that they redeemed those characters since their method of doing so basically consisted of “let them run free, hope for the best, clean up their messes, cover up all their crimes and/or blame others for their crimes, and hope nobody gets hurt” and then they just got extremely lucky that Equestria didn’t get destroyed (too much) and nobody got hurt (too badly, physically at least) while the two accidentally stumbled ass-backwards into sort-of-but-not-really-almost-making-some-efforts-to-be-decent :P
Agreed. What it boils down to for me is a villain needs a lot more nuance than just “had a bad thing happen once” for me to sympathize with them. If you want a really good example of how a sympathetic backstory doesn’t necessarily make a character sympathetic, look at both Kreese and Tory from Cobra Kai. They have depressingly sad backstories, like genuinely sad backstories that even justify a lot of their bad actions, and even manage to have some noble qualities, and yet they STILL manage to be so despicable and awful that it’s impossible to find them even remotely sympathetic. :D

Yet Discord still doesn’t know how to play the game even though he has played the same level already. His method of getting his lollipop is by annoying the adults instead of behaving. And even if the adults tell him he can get the lollipop if he behaves, he’ll still throw a tantrum to get what he wants. Starlight doesn’t need to work to get because she learns and behaves like the adults tell her to. Discord is a child that never grows up and Starlight is a child that eventually matures as an adult. This is probably not a fair comparison because Discord has way more episodes than Starlight but I still enjoy seeing Starlight on screen more than Discord.
Let’s just agree to disagree. I say Sunset Shimmer has the best redemption arc out of both of them. She has her fair share of punishment and never relapsed. She becomes better and better every time she appears. If only she is not just limited to Equestria Girls. :P
I’m getting the feeling you would not enjoy DWK’s Totally Legit Recap series.
Ironically, looking at their post-reformation characterizations, I find Discord has indeed learned a lot more. The big difference between the two is Starlight always just gets given whatever she wants; while Discord lashes out because he wants a lollipop, I feel as if Starlight simply doesn’t have to lash out because she was already given a jar of them: Discord often has to settle for less than he wanted or nothing at all, while Starlight has never once been told no. They’re playing the same game, but Starlight’s on very easy mode with a walkthrough and Discord’s on regular mode playing blind; Discord’s getting lower scores and making more mistakes, but he’s working harder and playing the game better :P
More or less they only rely on Fluttershy to keep him in check. It was Celestia’s idea in the first place and she doesn’t really do much about him. Poor little Fluttershy has to deal his obnoxiousness all by herself! I think the only time he gets what he deserves is in Three’s A Crowd when he really got sick.
I think my point for comparing them is their actions post-reformation. Discord feels like he never really learns anything. It feels like he is still the same arrogant, selfish character every time he is on screen. Take “Make New Friends But Keep Discord” and “A Matter of Principals” for examples, both of which deal with Discord being jealous of some other character and causing trouble for practically everyone involved and these two episodes are 3 seasons apart. We’re always dealing with the same problem with Discord. It’s less reformation and more keeping a child at bay with a lollipop. Discordant Harmony is the only exception for me. Starlight on the other hand feels like someone I can say “Wow, they have come so far” because she seems to do better and better every time she appears, which in turns makes it more comfortable for me to see her. I would definitely rather see her make more appearances than Discord. I do see your point that Discord is a creature that knows not much of right or wrong, which is why I actually enjoyed his antics before season 4 but I could only take those antics for so long. That Batman comparison is interesting considering her mindset toward friendship. Her main drive is Sunburst so if Sunburst didn’t leave she probably wouldn’t go down that path. My only problem with Starlight really is her backstory and motive could’ve been done better though. I even enjoy her villainous times because I love villains. :P
