I agree! People overreacted over the eyes and the alicorn thing. That’s stupid! There’s nothing wrong with that! Twilight became an Alicorn because of Celestia and she was her student. I think Sonic got the green eyes is because he’s growing up.

Sonic: Hey we do not ask it ok? and is the same for Twilight! Plus she a Princess, You should be Happy for her, not make all the Drama!

I agree, like seriously. Green eyes is no problem and I perfer him with green eyes to be honest but I seriously agree with alicorn Twilight, the drama is WAY too old

The only complain about green eyes is because it’s rare. I agree with alicorn though but green eyes for Sonic isn’t a problem

Come on! Really?! There not even remotely similar! Mario got blue eyes as graphics advanced and nobody complained. It’s just a minor change in appearance. I dislike Twilicorn because it butchers Twilight’s backstory and her character. Eyes don’t do that.

Twilicorn is a big thing because it changes a main character. I’m just pointing that out. For better or worse, but it’s a big change, and the consequences are still to be seen.

Twilight getting wings and becoming an alicorn has bigger implications than a a simple eye change of a hedgehog. There is no comparison to be made.

You know what I’m not bothered by the eye colour. Was it different before when did it happen? Feh.

I still can’t believe the Sonic fandom hasn’t gotten over Sonic’s eyes and it’s been well over ten years. He’s has green eyes for longer than he had neutral eye s.

The fact Sonic’s had green eyes sense like 1999, kinda makes the complaints over “green eyes” a li’l more pathetic in comparison to me. Sonic fans didn’t start doing that until Nicochi & Richard Kuta started that whole “green eyes in Sonic 4” crap.  
I must add even when Sega brought back the beloved “black eyed” Sonic, some Sonic fans STILL complained about “Sonic Generations” over the green eyed Sonic.
 
I think honestly the bronies haven’t been as bad as Sonic fans when it comes to changes. I will admit the alicorn drama is getting old, and I’m actually interested how the series will continue with Twilight as a Princess now. (It’s been said she’s going to stay in Ponyville with her friends, so nothing’s really changing to much it seems.)
 
Still, honestly I think the people starting the alicorn drama are just a minority of bronies. Most of those anti-alicorn pics get downvoted all over this site.

This is a problem that would only effect Fanfics and those with limited imagination to work around such a small problem.
 
Fanfics ignore canon usually anyway so why should this be any different.

Oh and the whole Twilight’s an Alicorn has big implications for the show, while I think the excessive reaction was stupid, and while a have trust for the writers, I can understand why they’re so worried.
 
Oh and on another note the Derpy-gate was a huge deal because Derpy was a special gift to the fans because it was a symbol of their relationship to the fans, she was a thank-you gift to the fans for honestly enjoying and actually appreciating all the hard work the show creators they put into the show in an otherwise thankless job, what Hasbro did was akin to a child that’s giving a really nice birthday gift to their friend only for the parent to rip it out of the kids hand, throw it on the ground, and stomping and crushing it just for shits and giggles, and no, you can’t tell me that’s an over-reaction, that’s exactly how it is.

Actually, just because Twilight’s an Alicorn it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s immortal Like Celestia and Luna, Cadence is one too, but we saw her age from the time she baby-sat Twilight

When I said Take effect, I meant take effect as in Twilight having to see her friends DIE. It just seems sad. If Twilight is granted immortality, she’ll soon find out that her friends will pass away… and she’ll just live forever..
 
I.. I’m so sorry everyone, I feel like I was criticizing you all mistakingly. /mlp/ just made me want to rant. Fuck /mlp/, fuck it to hell. It’s not you bronies here who made me sick, It’s how the bronies from /mlp/ reacted about alicorn twilight. I feel like such a fool. =(

I pretty much agree with your assessment. The theme of the season finale was, “Twilight Sparkle is an amazing person and the most important character.” I think this conflicts with the rest of the Friendship is Magic series which I would paraphrase as, “Each person has unique strengths and weaknesses which can be enhanced/overcome when we join together as friends.”

At least the Derpy thing had SOME legitimate complaints (the fact that Hasbro caved in to a vocal minority, the fact that proper research into the origins of the word “derp” wasn’t done, the unfortunate implications of the change, etc). Then again, the Derpy thing was a no-win situation so yeah.
