If that was conventional, or worked at all for that matter, there would be no old ponies. I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts (or, these days, the other way around) that it’s a temporary or otherwise greatly limited effect.
I think the Mane 6 will all have to become immortal, under Celestia’s say in doing so.
take the apple familly, aj would have to see ab, mac and everyone die, not better.
of course you could make theses live longer too, but their friends/lovers would die too.
so this isn’t really a solution, at one point, everyone would have to have their live prolonged.

Really, Twilight Sparkle wouldn’t just let her friends die of old age. She’s one of the highest level magic users now.
She can probably cast age spells till kingdom come if she wants.

Quickhand research says on average that a person attends a funeral every 2-3 years, with frequency rising as you get older. Granted, not all those would be close ones, but one is more than enough.
