I glanced about at the comments here and some point out that Shining Armor is not an alicorn. it’s actually worth noting that there have been no male alicorns AT ALL to date. There’s actually some evidence that there can’t be. In “Hearts and Hooves Day”, when Sweetie Belle finally realizes they brewed love poison, there’s a shot of the book depicting the prince and princess in the book. The prince is a regular earth pony but the princess is an alicorn.
