Ah, so she does. When I’d watched the animation previously I thought the animator had her jump in over the moon’s “horizon” from the background.

I want to know why someone drew what looks like a mechanical door in the crater in the center, but nothing goes out of it or comes in.

“Doo” actually came from “Ditzy-Doo,” (and I never heard “Dinky Doo” before personally, not even officially) which was another alternative name for her that was originally an unseen “featherhead” mentioned in S1’s “Winter Wrap-up” episode. Lauren Faust on DA said they considered calling the character that, but “she can still be Derpy if everyone likes.” So it kinda became an alternative name for her.  
Some fans even headcanoned that “Ditzy-Doo” is her real name, and “Derpy” is a nickname, (like in BalddumboRat’s Derpy videos) kinda like “Robotnik/Eggman.” That’s kinda what I did, but I don’t put much importance in her name, and I call her whatever.
 
Also, actually she’s credited in MLP:FIM’s end credits as “Muffins,” because they apparently aren’t allowed to use “Derpy” anymore, after the whole “Derpygate” drama.

She is 100% confirmed Derpy, has been for YEARS now. It was never a debate before, it’s not a debate now.
 
But, god it’s been so long that I don’t remember if her last name was ever made canon. She might be like Rarity, and not have a second name at all. The Doo part comes purely from Dinky Doo’s name, and the Hooves name being like Whooves is specifically the reason She gets paired with him in fanon. Due to the fanon, I wanna keep with “Hooves” because several things relied on that. “Doo” doesn’t add anything to her.
 
But so long as we all agree her name is Derpy, then all is well. That is the important thing. Ditzy died a long times ago, and Muffins is a Pony Life character only.
 
Oh heck enarly forgot to say, this video is such a damn good classic! It’s nuts to think this is what made me look up Kanashii Panda.

There’s already “Doctor Hooves” though, so I kinda prefer “Doo.” (And I’ve heard a show staffer refer to her as “Derpy Doo” before.)

Well seeing as most people prefer Derpy Hooves over Derpy Doo I’m going to call her that.

Some fans use “Derpy/Ditzy Doo” still, and if you wanna get more technical, supposedly she’s “Muffins” in canon.  
Honestly, I say just call her whatever, she has so many names now.

Seeing Derpy Doo, and Daring Doo together reminds me of that old headcanon some fans had that they’re sisters.

This music video is so crazy with two giant smiley people dancing on the moon with Daring Do and Derpy and Scootaloo is floating around in the background. I love it!

I remember watching this years back. Classic Pony fan vids.
