Waking up suddenly in a new equine body would be enough of a challenge already without having to worry about extra appendages.
As a pony you most likely wouldn’t enjoy the taste of meat so your craving would go away soon.

Why would you want to be an earth pony if you lose your hands?
I cannot imaging hunting meat as a prey animal in a world run mostly by prey animals. You never know whether some creature is sentient or not. Or whether they are sapient or not. I would probably end up stealing Applejack’s pigs. Or Fluttershy’s chickens.
You can still eat meat as a pony. Just need to hunt it yourself and keep your nutritional quirk hidden from the rest of pony society.
